What role are you applying for: Combat Engineer. I’m most interested in demolition (and defusal), however, field construction still interests me.
Do you understand that with this application you are to act according to your preferred character's In Character limitations (IE. ODST aren't average grunts and are held to a higher standard of ethics and personal action. ): I do! ODSTs are given enhanced training and equipment, they’re expected to accomplish objectives with more efficiency.

IC INFORMATION
Character name: Christopher Marcus.
Character Description: The man before you stands at roughly five feet eleven inches. They wear heavy armour identifying them as an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. Their shoulders are marked with white medical references and green accents, their gear is tightly kept with a few scratches on it.
Character Backstory: Christopher Marcus was born to a stable middle-class family on the colony of Barrows. Christopher’s family spent their time building him and his brother up for a short stint in the military, following the father’s line of serving. Mulling over the thought of joining either the ARMY or the Marines, Christopher eventually landed on the UNSC Marine corps. During his time in, Christopher was assigned to the 9th Marine Expeditionary Force, stationed in the Eridanus system. With the 9th he got a feel for counter-terrorism and combat, frequently facing off against irregular militiamen, and organized insurrectionists alike. Christopher served two years with the 9th, noted by his commanding officer for “creative and independent tactics.” From this note, he was recommended to volunteer for the ODST program, instantly volunteering. After the intensive selection process, and an even harder training regime, Christopher exited the course stronger, faster, and far sharper. As Christopher came down from his high, and took a well-deserved leave, he learnt the unfortunate news of his brother passing. Christopher’s brother, Percy, joined the Navy as a corpsman, killed by a roadside IED as his unit patrolled. Christopher quickly finished his leave and requested immediate assignment to a combat element, now assigned to the 63rd.

(CONTROLLED DEMOLITION)
Christopher approached the target alongside his team, the team consistently adjusting their angles to keep their approach covered. The team came to a stop just short of the building’s entrance, pulling security around a pillar that seemed to be supporting a small balcony.
“All Zulu units, this is Zulu 1-3. Passing Alcatraz.” Christopher called over his radio, indicating to the other team that he was beginning his demolition process. The ODST took a knee, pulling his pack off and placing it next to the pillar, removing a can of C-7 foaming spray. Christopher gave the can a little shake before removing the cap. As the ODST pressed the canister against the pillar’s base it began to push out a solidifying liquid, the liquid hardened into foam as it was oxygenated. After a few seconds, the base of the pillar was liberally covered, foam filling some of the cracks. “Alright, back to staging.” He’d say to his fireteam, as the group pulled back the same they came. The small unit took cover roughly fifty meters away before Christopher jumped back onto their comms. “Zulu 1-2, this Zulu 1-3. You’re all green.” He’d say before calling out “Controlled det, controlled det, controlled det!” To his team, clacking off the explosive canister.
A shockwave was felt as the team’s ears were momentarily deafened by the canister’s explosion. The ISR feed above would see the pillar go up in flames before collapsing and bringing down the building balcony and some of the room. The explosion was followed by an ARMY falcon flying in and hovering just above the new entranced allowing ODSTs to rappel onto the second floor.
(EXPLOSIVE ORDINANCE DISPOSAL)
The convoy of marines had been stopped along the road, isolated from most structures, only a local church nearby. “Zulu 1-3, this is Ground Hog Romeo. Be advised one of our teams has encountered an IED, you’re team is nearby so we’re directing you to assist. Congratulations you’re being pulled out of the air. Over.”
Christopher let out a sigh as his falcon veered off its course above the convoy and went in for a hover. “Ground Hog Romeo... Zulu 1-3 copies. You aren’t able to put a round in it?”
“Negative Zulu 1-3. Too close to the church, can’t risk cultural damage.”
The falcon drifted just above the ground, the crew chief deploying fast ropes.
“Copy that. See you soon Ground Hog.” Christopher quickly radioed before riding a rope down, landing nearby the convoy. He strode over, approaching the front of the convoy. The marines had dismounted and were pulling security, keeping in cover to avoid the IED, while attempting to avoid an ambush.
“Hey! Where’s the device?” Christopher asked the fireteam leader by the front vehicle. The man directed him to the small patch of garbage just in front of the church, from their position they could see an old artillery shell protruding from the pile. Christopher nodded, starting his slow approach. He kept his eyes open for any signs of a trip-wire or pad. “Groundhog. Activate your jammer. The last thing we need is my radio tripping this.
No response was given, just momentary static as the convoy enabled their radio and cellular jammer. Christopher successfully approached without finding or tripping any wires, beginning to inspect the IED. It had an artillery shell rigged with some cheap electronics and a cellphone, the cellphone was successfully blocked, meaning the ambush team had likely retreated. The man sighed, opened up the cheap electronics and searching for the detonator. They first isolated the delay, holding it in place in the event of an accidental cook. Christopher then located the fuze, starting the dangerous process of disconnecting it from the shell. After the fuze was disconnected, he disconnected the phone. The bomb was now disabled, but still dangerous, slowly removing the little garbage surrounding it, he signalled the fireteam closer. The fireteam arrived, carefully moving the defused explosive away for it to be manually detonated using controlled explosives.
(FIELD CONSTRUCTION)
Christopher was stripped down into his duty uniform, assisting the setup of their FSB. He had since been directing some of the construction but was now in the dirt help to unfold the HESCO barriers and guide the filling crews. After they had established the HESCO wall, they moved and began unfolding and pushing the barricades into the ground. Within hours the team had built up a strong ECP.
