IC INFORMATION
Character name: Michael Vargas
Character Description: 6'6 Trooper, athletically built, trooper with added armor plating on each limb and an M45 Tactical shotgun strapped to his back and his M6C/SOCOM Magnum strapped to his thigh, the planetary flag for Draco III tattooed to his left shoulder and a strong Draconian accent.
Character Backstory:
Michael Vargas was born on Draco III in the year 2495. Growing up, Michael showed impressive athletic ability, and it shined once he entered his high school years. He and his family devoted a lot of their time an energy into helping Michael play baseball at a high level which earned him a baseball scholarship to a school on the system.
During his four years at University, he continued to excel on the baseball field and contemplated going pro, and after graduating from University with a bachelor's in Nursing, Michael did what many thought he was destined to, and declared for the Draco League baseball draft. He was picked third overall in the First round by his hometown team, to play as a Catcher. Vargas went on to play six years in the minor leagues before finally getting called up to play in the big leagues.
When the day finally came for his debut in the Bigs, he'd talked to both of his parents before the game, as well as some higher ups in the UEG government that oversaw Draco III, all of whom were attending the game. During the third inning, Michael came up to the plate as it was his turn to bat in the lineup. The Pitcher had him in a 1-2 count when Michael finally swung on the fourth pitch, sending it out toward right field for a single. The stadium went nuts after he reached first base and started celebrating. As Michael turned and looked at the stands to find his family, part of the stands exploded into a large ball of fire due to a bomb targeting the Government officials. Everyone on the field was rushed to safety and Michael later found out that as well as the officials attending the game, his parents and little sister were caught in the blast resulting in the deaths of his parents and permanent disabling of his little sister. His team forfeited the season to recover from this tragedy, and Michael opted to retire from baseball and enlist in the United Nations Space Command Marine Corps to get back at the Insurrectionists who orchestrated the tragedy. The man spent a year undergoing Marine Basic and later ODST training before opting to transfer to Medical after being the sole survivor of his platoon during a mission on Antioch.
Demonstrate proper roleplay for this character:
***Pvt. Michael Vargas stood in a small room on the second floor of a building that he and his platoon were cornered in. he was firing his BR-55 out the window at a large grouping of URF soldiers, and then he heard what sounded like a loud bang at the front entrance, followed by a small firefight going on downstairs. He slung his BR-55 and quickly grabbed his shotgun, that had been leaning against the windowsill. The trooper loaded it as he quickly ran toward the staircase and slid down the railing.
*Out of the corner of Vargas' eyes, the trooper spotted Captain Miller and twelve other surviving ODST fighting in close quarters against some URF that'd entered the room. He witnessed as Miller took a Magnum round to what looked like her stomach, and she topped over, wreathing in agony.
***Pvt. Michael Vargas charged forward, aiming his M45 Tactical shotgun, and opening fire, downing several URF troops which allowed his fellow ODST to shut and block the doors. He then crouched in front of Miller and shouted, "Medic! Miller needs a Medic here!" No reply came until one of his fellow men pointed out the deceased Corpsman on the far side of the room. Vargas grumbled and then ran over to the medic's body, grabbing his entire kit, and then hustling back to Miller. He tore off her armor plating, and then opened to kit to find a buttload of gauze and cloth which he could use to apply pressure to the wound and stop it from bleeding.
*Before the Breacher applied pressure to the wound, he found some morphine in the kit and injected Miller with it, then he proceeded to immediately apply pressure to prevent the wound from bleeding. One of his fellow troops rushed over and assisted in giving pressure while Vargas grabbed some cloth and gauze, using it to clean up the blood on her. After a minute or two of intense care, Vargas reached back into the kit and found a canister of biofoam, which he then sprayed over the wound allowing it to seal temporarily.
***Pvt. Michael Vargas reached into the kit one final time and pulled out an adrenaline shot, which he gave Miller and helped her up and over to the far corner of the room where she could have a while to rest while her men continued the firefight. Miller leaned toward her and spoke. "Captain, are you doing okay? Can you hear me?" to which the ONI Spook lady gave a subtle nod and replied, "I'm alive, Vargas. Thank you. Now give 'em hell."
*The trooper smirked beneath his helmet and gave her quick battlefield salute. "Yes ma'am." He replied, before grabbing his shotgun and running back to combat.
