IC INFORMATION
Character name: Carter Andrews
Character Description: A quote, 'mammoth' of a man. Carter is a silent giant that stands at 6'6 at last measurement. He has a bulkier build, and its a surprise that he was able to become an ODST in the first place, but I digress. Carter lives, breathes, and sleeps in his armor which is well maintained and very standard besides its bulkier status. Upon his chest there is a yellow sticker with a crudely drawn and maintained smile. With that said, Carter prefers to keep his voice and identity hidden behind the helmet, though is well mannered and expressive through other forms of communication, like grunts, hand gestures, and general stares through the visor. He is a bubbly and simplistic character overall, and despite not speaking much, retains a unique and outgoing personality. When Carter does speak, he has a low toned voice with a thicker accent, making some words indistinguishable or difficult to narrate. Carter enjoys the military operations he's been tasked with, and the jobs he's had to do thus far-- it seems that the very essence of combat brings joy, and explosives are no different. With this combined, he may seem fairly empty, and his stature limiting in doorways onboard the ship-- but as I'll mention in the backstory, Carter is educated and knows exactly what he's doing.
Character Backstory: Born on July 8th, 2500 in the town of New Munich, [People's Republic of] Germany, Carter was a part of a traditional family unit with a mother, father, though he would be the first of two. Throughout much of his early life, it was simple, as it should be, Carter was a usual child, with their usual interests, whether that shifted from the stars to dinosaurs, to curiosity that begged 2000 'whys' from the boy, life was nothing unusual. In school, he would be among the top 10% of his class, and develop further interests in History and Mathematics.. That interest flourished in his final years of school, a secondary school on the border of New Munich, where he would be an athlete and finalize his studied before he was met with a choice. Military, or college... And since this is being written, it's obvious, Carter chose the path that history spoke of, of honor and glory for their country, or in this case, people... Carter would begin training in the UNSC when he eventually transferred into the ODST. As time went on, he found less need to speak, and more time was focused on training and bulking up.. He was already a larger man, but coming into the ODST certified this tank to be a force to be reckoned with. The speaking would power down, and the non-vocal, or non-literary language would take over to this man in not-so-shiny armor.
Demonstrate proper roleplay for this character:
Carter would find himself tasked with building up barricades and placing mounted gun placements on a defensive position, hours before an intended attack. The man enters the back of a warthog and tosses several crates of sandbags to the side, letting out some grunts of focus and movement as the weight shifted from himself outwards as the said crates fell to the ground. While doing this animatronic task, the man would hum a chipper tune to himself with grunts enveloped between the non-vocal lyrics of the piece. Ten minutes of this would allow the crates to be scattered in the dirt, and Carter to hop from the back of the vehicle and into a second beside it, where two guns were dismantled, and waited to be put back together. Carter takes the gun, piece by piece and places it on the ground next to the scattered crates of sandbags before tearing open said crates, and constructing his wall. Over the course of a half hour, the man would sweat lightly under the armor as the physical labor became repetitive, and the sun beat down upon his back. Though, his castle, or rather, trail of sandbags stretched along a perimeter, 8 high, and sturdy enough to be undisturbed and remain constructed. Carter then placed the bottom pieces of one of the turrets in the dirt, and steadying the second piece upon its crown. With a few screws and an overview of his work, Carter would test the turret with a loud "HEY", that echoed through the valley. The man fires 6 rounds in succession to check for any jams on the open field before chuckling in some amusement and pride before whistling and repeating the endless process a second time. Upon completion he stood back at his handiwork, the sticker being oh so prominent and a display of his achievement-- while small, reminded him that, that's all it takes. He whistled cheerfully as he wandered, searching for another task to complete.
